Chitral and Gilgit Baltistan produce fruits in a large quantity and with the best quality. The fruits are as natural as the areas. And the fruits are full of juice and taste. Both the valleys produce a variety of fruits that might not be produced by some other single area in Pakistan. Every season will taste you a different fruit and will make you more fresh and lively. The ripening of the first fruit of the year starts from Cherry in the spring season especially in the last of May. Then the Mulberries would be ready to bring down from the trees and to enjoy. Simultaneously, the apricots would blush their colors to be enjoyed. Parallelly, the summer apples fall from their trees into the grass. Every bite of those apples is full of juice and energy. Figs are the next fruits to be bitten and they are mouthwatering.
In the last week of August, the ripened grapes would hang themselves down and everyone enjoys them. In August Almonds are gathered and dried out for winter. The dark red apples come in September which are matchless in every aspect. Peaches are also ready to be eaten in August. There are varieties of pears which ripe one after another. The color and taste of Amlok of Chitral and Gilgit Baltistan are just amazing and one cannot find them. Moreover, the Walnuts would open their covers in the last week of September and in October they are being preserved. Pomegranates are nearly ripen in winter with their energizing taste.
Each fruit of these two regions is very rare and precious but unfortunately, they are wasted because those people lack the concept of entrepreneurship, and also there are no proper channels through which they can sell their natural items. And it is necessary to consider this issue and to provide proper channels and training. This would not just benefit the two regions but can enhance the economic generation of Pakistan as well. To stand as a nation (AikQaum) we need to identify such areas and we need to walk together hence that we can counter challenges.
