The Chaat Paata Taste of Punjabi Cuisine

Punjab is the largest province of Pakistan, in terms of population located in the south direction. It is the agricultural land of Pakistan and produces tons of grain along with a variety of fruits and vegetables.  Punjab is famous for its Chaat Paata cuisine which can make you energetic. Punjabi cuisines are full of different spices for instance garam masala (made of Cumin Seeds, Black Cardamom Seed, Black Peppercorn, Green Cardamom, Cinnamon, Mace, Shahi Jeera,  Bay Petals, And Dry Rose Petals, etc) chaat masala (made of Cumin Seeds, Black Peppercorn, Black Salt, Dry Pudina, Hing, Tartaric Acid, Am Choor,  Ajwain, Ginger Powder, Yellow Chili Powder) tandoori chaat masala (made of Cumin Seeds, Black Pepper Com,  Black Salt, Dry Pudina, Kasoori Methi, Green Cardamom, and Cloves. All of them spread their own specific fragrance that a person cannot hold on to without tasting them. Certain famous foodstuffs of Punjab are given in the following lines:

  1. Sarson Da Saag

SARSON DA SAAG is a famous and outclass vegetarian dish in Punjabi rural areas. It is made of mustard greens and spices such as garam masala, ginger, and garlic and it is served with Makki Ki Roti (maize loaf).

  • Amritsari Machhi

Fish pieces are fried with AJWAIN flavored and served with chutney and lemon wedges. And it is the delicious one.

  • Makki Ki Rotti

Makki Ki Rotti is made up of maize flour and baking powder. It is the famous Rotti in rural Punjab and it is full of nutrients.

  • Maah Chhole Di Daal

It is a mixture of different Daal (pulses) made of Urad Dal, Rajma, and Channa Dal enriched with cream and desi ghee. It is usually served with Rotti.

  • Phirnee

It is a traditional dessert served normally during the summer times. It is prepared by boing soaked rice in sweet milk. This is cooked until thickened and poured into pots. Mostly it is poured into mud pot to enhance its traditional look and also to keep it moisture. Different nuts are spread over it to make it decorative and tasty as well.
