Not long ago Shahid Afridi gave a suggestion to reconsider Shoaib Malik in the 2021 T20 Match. The reason is still unknown that why was he excluded from T20 2021.”
“I don’t understand why I was dropped from the team. I don’t want to drag this issue. It doesn’t matter how much your age is. You should meet the team’s criteria in terms of performance, fitness. Most importantly, as a senior player if you keep the environment of the dressing room healthy and respect your management and young players, then nothing else matters,”
While speaking in a Youtube video Inzamam ul Haq said the same thing:
“If Mohammad Hafeez doesn’t perform then the rest of your middle-order is inexperienced. Azam Khan is playing his first series and Sohaib Maqsood is making his comeback, so it will be difficult for him to handle the responsibility of the entire middle-order.”
He also said, “I think Shoaib Malik is a brilliant T20 player and they could have included him. But I think he gave some statement against the head coach, so that is why I think he was overlooked. We should not do experiments ahead of the T20 World Cup and should rather make use of our experienced player.”
It seems like everyone wants to include Shoaib Malik in T20 this year. May be its time to reconsider this stance and include him in T20.
