The most famous hero of the philanthropist world Abdul Sattar Edhi left this earth back on 8 July 2016. But he is remembered many times a day and on daily basis. He started his charitable activities when the Asian flu came in 1957. And he founded his Edhi Foundation. He brought his first ambulance at that time from donation money and spread the chain of his ambulance throughout Pakistan. He is known to be for his largest number of voluntary ambulance networks.
He was an ambulance provider for the ill, shelter for the homeless, rehabilitator for the lost one, and a father for the orphans across Pakistan. Abdul Sattar Edhi has received many awards for his service and has got the title of “Angel of Mercy” and “The Rich Poor Man” His wife Bilquis Edhi helped him a lot in his charitable activities. His son Faisal Edhi has taken the charge and serving the people.
He was Edhi and he was a Pakistani. Today we salute you as a nation (AikQaum) and we follow you as an individual. You will always be with us in our hearts.
