Secretary Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), Jamil Ahmed Qureshi and his team held a detailed meeting with Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan, Amjad Hussain to discuss investment facilitation, regulatory reforms and measures to promote economic activity in the region.
According to SIFC press release issued here Wednesday, the team briefed the Chief Minister on the government’s key priorities of investment facilitation and regulatory reforms, being advanced across the country through the Asaan Karobar Act.
The initiative aims to streamline regulatory processes, facilitate businesses and create a more conducive environment for investment and economic growth.
The Chief Minister apprised the SIFC delegation that the Asaan Karobar Act would shortly be taken up by the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, reflecting the region’s commitment to advancing business facilitation and regulatory reforms.
The meeting also focused on promoting industrialization in Gilgit-Baltistan and exploring opportunities for investment through Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
SIFC highlighted its role in facilitating investors, coordinating with relevant stakeholders and supporting the development of commercially viable investment opportunities.
SIFC reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the GB government to unlock the region’s investment potential, strengthen the business environment and facilitate investors through coordinated institutional support.
The engagement underscores SIFC’s whole-of-government approach to extending investment facilitation and reform initiatives across Pakistan.
