The water crisis has hit the globe with intensity and all
are trying to cope with it. Water is the basic necessity of life and without it,
there cannot be the existence of life. Countries like Brazil, Germany,
Singapore, Australia, and China also face a scarcity of water. Fortunately,
technological advancement has the solution for it. To cope with the water
crisis a formula has been introduced to collect rainwater.
The water collected or stored from rain can be used for
general purposes. It can also be treated for human consumption as well. Germany
is the first country that started the collection of rainwater back in 1980 and
then China later in the 1990s adopted it. China having the largest population
faces a water crisis. The government of China has worked to store rainwater
through a rainwater harvesting system.
Brazil has dealt with the crisis with the same strategy of
rooftop rainwater harvesting system. They are obliged to install a 16000L tank
to store the rainwater that is used till the dry season. And they are not using
it just for home purposes but also for agriculture and livestock. Singapore has eliminated pollution causing
element from the country to ensure clean water preservation and have achieved
it to larger extend.
Pakistan also needs to follow this strategy because we are
losing many liters of rainwater. According to environmentalists, Pakistan is
also on the verge of a water crisis so it is necessary to take steps before
entering into the phase of the crisis. Pakistan can adopt the strategy of a rooftop
rainwater harvesting system. Being an agricultural country Pakistan can never
effort the water crisis. It is best to act on time than wait for the crisis.
