An International Day for the Older Persons
The English proverb “Old is Gold” better explains the importance of Older Persons. They are the biggest asset as is the orator of history, communicator of life experiences, and well-wishers to the future. The United Nations has declared the 1st of October as an international day for Older Persons. This day aims to highlight the important contributions that older people make to society and raise awareness of the opportunities and challenges of aging in today’s world.
Whereas, the theme for 2021 International Day is “Digital Equity for All Ages.” Everybody is indebted to their elders and no one can deny their contribution. Because without parents and grandparents facilitation no one can grow. And the way they nourish and care is unmatchable. A person without a closely elderly guide can better explain the importance of elders.
Parents are the first elderly personalities who love, care, guide, invest and nourish at every step of life. Their good wishes and prayers are the reason for individual success. Secondly, teachers take up the role of elderly guiding who illuminates the dark paths of life with the flickering candle of knowledge.
The elderly figures in families and societies introduce the generation with norms and traditions of their respective areas. They guide in every step of life with the use of their experience. Therefore, the presence of forefathers in every age is no less than a blessing, especially for the young generation.
Moreover, elders never complain about our misbehaviors and they always try to correct their young generation in the best possible way. You as an individual are indebted to your parents because they are the people who have taken you to life. One cannot count the care and love of parents. They are selfless investors.
However, in return, they just need respect and love from the younger side. Although they never demand for it but this must be the basic responsibility of the youngster to consider care about their elders.
Suggestion
So, on the international day of older persons let’s take few minutes to acknowledge them and to pay tribute to them for what they have done for us. Do tell them today that we as a youngster are nothing without them. We always need them in every phase of life. Never let modernity prevail over them. Give them respect, dignity, care, and love.
Dear Elders, you are the shadow under the hottest sun, umbrella in the thundering storm, and reason of success and smile. Stay with us and guide us as you have been doing. We love you the most.
