Argentina’s last success was in 1993, where great Gabriel Batistuta’s brace gave them a 2-1 win over Mexico in the Copa final in Ecuador. Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni said:

It’s a great title, especially for our people. The fans support the team unconditionally. I think they can identify with this team that never gives in,”

Angel Di Maria’s goal gave Argentina a 1-0 win over hosts Brazil in the Copa America final on Saturday.  Messi was on song in the ongoing Copa America and won the Golden Boot award as well as the Best Player of the Tournament. The FC Barcelona legend scored four goals in seven appearances. He also provided five assists which takes his contribution to nine goals out of 13 Argentina has scored in the tournament. At age 34, Messi received another trophy as he seized the opportunity. The match was decided by a single goal from Angel Di Maria. He lobbed a Manchester City star Ederson from a perfect Rodrigo de Paul pass.
