The first activity by Graana.com is Cycling Sunday which is not just good for health but also for the ecosystem.
Graana.com has arranged this event in collaboration with Urban Innovation, Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA), Islamabad Cycling Association, ITP, Tobacco Smoke-free Islamabad, UNDP Urban Platform, MTB Islamabad, Prime Minister’s Tiger Force, Critical Mass Islamabad, and Girls Cycling Squad. And it was attended by many of the stakeholders like Director General ICT, Ms. Syeda Shafaq Hashmi, Founder Urban Innovation Mr. Naveed Iftikhar, Imarat Group Directors Mr. Farhan Javed, and Mr. Arslan Javed. They all appreciate the initiative and advocate for the infrastructure for cycling and eco-friendly activities.
Graana.com and all the collaborated organizations are committed to arranging ‘Cycling Sunday’ in Islamabad every month. This event has been categorized for everyone for example for kids, teenagers, adults to participate in. It has a leisure part and also a contest cycling which holds awards as well. In leisure cycling, everyone can participate whereas contest cycling has categorized for kids, teenagers, and adults. The cycling starts from Jinnah Avenue and ends at D-Chowk. This event is successful because of the people of Islamabad who participate in it and encourage such activities.
The goal of this event is to make the territory of Islamabad eco-friendly. It has multiple benefits like it helps to maintain health, to clean environment, and also save the money for fuel. Pakistan is rapidly turning into urbanization for development purposes so we cannot stop this process but we need to take precautions to save our environment.
