You might have noticed that people used to talk about equality. Many demands for it. And others shout it aloud with posters and banners. People seemed to be an obsession with the word equality and rarely talk consider equity. I do not know about the reason nor the logic behind it. But I think one should have to ask for equity as well along with equality. Equality can never fulfill rights because differences are inevitable. And no one can end the differences as they are something natural. For instance, you are born as a male and the other as a female whereas the third one is a trans. Take a minute and just think Are their requirements are same? Yes, some of the basics are the same but not all. Secondly, some are dwarfs, others are tall. Can they see the same points from the same level? Of course, they can never. And their difference can never be dealt with equality. Oh, I forget to define both the terms. Let’s define them.
Equality:
Equality is the treatment regardless of need or any other individual difference. It means equality is blind to the difference. For instance, you are providing the same quantity of food to three individuals who share a height of difference among them. Means one is just three years old child, the second is 18 years old teenager and the third one is sixty years old man. And you want all of them to be equally full. Is that possible?
Equity:
Whereas equity means everyone is provided according to their need. I would like to explain the same example as given above. The above equality would lead to injustice. Because a child of three years old and that of 18 years old teenager and an old man can be justly distributed with the same quantity of food. Because all three are different from each other, not personality-wise but also in regard to requirements so they must be treated with equity than equality.
The above-given picture is the perfect description of equality and equity. The first part of the picture presents the outcry of equality, and the second part depicts that of equity whereas the third part shows that of both equality and equity. focus over the pictures for many a time so that you would be able to justice.
