In a recent interview of a former cricketer, Abdul Razzak made a discriminatory remark at Nida Dar of Pakistan’s women’s cricket team. Former cricketer Abdul Razzak has landed in hot waters as his latest interview started doing rounds on the internet where he casually directs discriminatory remarks towards Nida Dar of Pakistan’s women’s cricket team. The Pakistan women’s cricket team represents Pakistan in international women’s cricket. The concept of women’s cricket was first introduced by two sisters Shaiza and Sharmeen Khan in 1996. In conservative Pakistan, the creation of the Pakistan women’s cricket team was even considered illegal and was met with court cases and even death threats. The team did manage to overcome these issues and played in 1997. A bad humor by Abdul Razzak as he sat down in an interview with Nauman Ejaz. The remarks on woman Nida Dar made the news. Twitter lashed out at him after the clip went viral. Razzak made a discriminatory remark at Nida Dar’s appearance and future in sports.
Razzak said:” “Their field is as such. When they become cricketers, they strive to be as equal as their male counterparts, if not better than them. They want to prove that not only men, but they can also do it as well. The feeling [to get married] is gone [by the time they excel.”
Nida dar responded: “Our profession is such that we have to gym. We have to bat, bowl, field. Hence, we have to stay fit.”
After cutting Nida Dar, Razzak said: “You can tell by the haircut she has.” He also said: “I had this query for a while. Can you not play cricket with longer hair?”
Nida Dar said as a reply: “You absolutely can play with long hair,But for someone who has kept her hair long, it would affect her game.” Ejaz then said: “There are certain requirements when it comes to sports. Why can’t one play with a three-piece suit? You have to abide by the need of the sport.”
Another remark was made when Abdul Razzak said: “Do you have some kind of allergy with marriage? You don’t want to talk about it at all.” Then Nida Dar said: “”They try to play the sport as much as they can since you never know after the wedding.”
Discussing the marriage topic he went on to say: “Oh, they don’t get married, Their field is as such. When they become cricketers, they strive to be as equal as their male counterparts, if not better than them. They want to prove that not only men, but they can also do it as well. The feeling is gone by the time they excel”.
Twitter seems enraged over the discriminatory remarks of Abdul Razzak. Keyboard warriors got vocal about their opinion.
