To mark the 70th anniversary of Pakistan-China ties, the Badaling Section of China’s renowned Great Wall held an exquisite and dazzling light display. Several laser light formulae and words were used in the light display to celebrate Pakistan and China’s seven-decade-long iron brotherhood.
A large part of the wall was lighted in the national colours of Pakistan and China. The light spectacular at the ancient Great Wall of China, according to Ambassador Moin ul Haque, underlined Pakistan and China’s everlasting relationship.
He praised the contributions of numerous generations from both countries to building bilateral friendship, noting that Pakistan and China were increasing bilateral cultural and people-to-people contacts in order to carry on the best traditions of friendly connections to the masses of both countries.
He said that in the 1980s, Pakistan contributed a small amount to the rebuilding of a section of the Great Wall as a gesture of goodwill to China. “A plaque has been erected there as a memory of that small homage of goodwill that Pakistan paid to our Chinese brothers and sisters,” he continued.
The event was co-organized by the Pakistani Embassy in Beijing and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality. To commemorate Pakistan and China’s cordial relations, the light display featured a range of light and word combinations.
