Individuals are born with definite skills and capabilities. The creator blesses each child with uniqueness. And all are different from one another. There cannot be any identical persons even the twins are different from each other. So, each of the distinct individual need opportunities and facilitation to bring out the hidden talent from inside of their being.
Such opportunities and facilitation must emerge from home to help out the child to explore him/herself. After school, it is the responsibility of the education institutes to focus on the exploration of the students. So that they would be able to be productive and can benefit the nation.
FERN team NUST
There is no limit to talent in Pakistani youth. They can rock in every field and sector. As students of the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) have always been at the top level in different competitions both nationally and internationally. The recent story of their success is about their developed formula of Electric Racing. A team of students with the name (FERN) who have taken part in Formula Student UK 2021 and Formula Student Russia 2021. In UK competition 2021 this group secured the first position while in Russian competition they stood second just by one mark.
Both the competition were of international level. Hence it proves that Pakistani students have full potentials when they are facilitated and encouraged to do research and experiments. The students have given full details of their product focusing on certain points. For instance, Multiple evaluation sessions with judges for both Mechanical and Electrical systems, a deep dive into business plan via presentation and analysis of the cost, manufacturing efficiency, and quality control.
Further, the vehicle design is influenced by the open-wheeled, open cockpit, single-seater Formula racing car. The Electric Vehicle (EV) uses a 5 kWh battery that is good for a range of 22 km. It has a top speed of 120 kilometers per hour (kph) and can go from a standstill to 100 kph in just 4.5 seconds.
Suggestions
Such achievement is an achievement of the whole country, not just the institute and individual students. So to have much more achievements depend students should be facilitated and encouraged. NUST is one of the prestigious institutes that produce gems in every batch. Some other private institutes like LUMS, IBA, GIK, and AKU are worthy places in terms of facilitation and nourishment. But all these prestige are out of reach of millions of students. Although they are no less than anyone yet does not get opportunities. The government needs to focus on this matter so that we can make Pakistan a landscape of Skilled people.
