PM Imran Khan has addressed all issues in just 28 minutes at the General Assembly of the UN. Yesterday was the 76th session of the UN general assembly. Imran Khan attended the session through a video link and has highlighted all the issues.

Pandemic, Economy and Climate Change

His first point of address was regarding the Pandemic that has created chaos all over the world. He emphasized over vaccination and shared the experiences of Pakistan. Secondly, he addressed the challenge of climate change. As Pakistan is among the most vulnerable countries in the phase of climatic change. He urged the UN and all the developed countries to cope with this challenge collectively. And also requested to the developed countries to help out the developing countries.

Further, he talked about the economic downturn due to the pandemic and that climate change. And highlighted it as the biggest challenge to cope with all the other matters. He also admitted that developing countries are not that much capable. PM urged the global community to contribute to alleviating poverty, promote job creation, build sustainable infrastructure, and bridge the digital divide.

He talked about the exploitation by elites. And compared it with the colonization procedure of the sub-continent. He clearly expressed that the money these elites are having is the money of the masses of the developing countries. Though all those masses are in dire need of their money it is difficult to be retrieved.

Moreover, being a Muslim and leader of a Muslim state he highlighted ad urged the global community about the spread of Islamophobia. Imran Khan said: “I call on the secretary-general to convene a global dialogue on countering the rise of Islamophobia. Our parallel efforts, at the same time, should be to promote interfaith harmony, and they should continue.”

Kashmir Issue

Majorly he talked about the Kashmir issue. He directly addressed the illegal occupation of Kashmir by India from the 5th of August 2019. And talked about their brutality and inhumanity in the Kashmir valley. He said: “India’s military build-up, development of advanced nuclear weapons, and acquisition of destabilizing conventional capabilities, can erode mutual deterrence between the two countries.” Further, he pointed out the growing Hindu extremism in India that has become a threat for its Muslim population and those belonging to other religious minorities. He added that Pakistan wanted peace with India like other neighboring countries but India’s action in Kashmir is not favorable.

Afghan Settlement

Lastly, he gave a very detailed note on the Afghanistan settlement. He said that: “There is only one way to go. We must strengthen and stabilize the current government, for the sake of the people of Afghanistan.” Pakistan has continuously asking the world to recognize the Taliban government for stability and humanitarian assistance. PM also highlighted the two decades of war on terror and the suffering from it. He said Pakistan suffered a lot after Afghanistan and above 80 thousand Pakistani died. The trained Mujahidin turned against Pakistan and created a pool of problems for Pakistan. Pakistan has been home to Afghan refugees that has been a big challenge for Pakistan. Therefore, the prime minister urged the world community to incentivize the Taliban to “walk this talk”. So far, now it is necessary to recognize the new government and need to provide them economic aids.

Pakistan Day, observed annually on March 23rd, holds a place of immense significance in the history of Pakistan. It marks the passing of the Lahore Resolution in 1940, which laid the foundation for the creation of an independent state for Muslims of the Indian subcontinent. This historic day serves as a reminder of the heroic struggle, sacrifices, and unwavering resolve of the Muslims who aspired for a separate homeland where they could live with dignity and practice their religion freely.

The Lahore Resolution: A Milestone in the Freedom Struggle

The All India Muslim League, under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, convened its annual session in Lahore from March 22 to 24, 1940. On March 23rd, the historic resolution was passed at Minto Park (now known as Iqbal Park), demanding separate states for Muslims in the northwestern and eastern regions of India. This resolution, often referred to as the “Pakistan Resolution,” became the cornerstone of the Pakistan Movement and galvanized Muslims into an organized struggle for their rights.

The Heroic Struggle and Sacrifices of the Muslims

The road to independence was not an easy one. The Muslims of the subcontinent faced tremendous challenges, including political opposition, social hardships, and economic constraints. The demand for a separate homeland was met with strong resistance from both the British colonial rulers and the Indian National Congress. However, the unwavering commitment of Muslim leaders and activists fueled the movement with newfound energy and resilience.

Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, through his unmatched leadership and unwavering determination, guided the Muslims towards their goal. He emphasized the importance of unity, faith, and discipline, inspiring millions to rally behind the cause. Countless individuals sacrificed their lives, endured imprisonment, and faced brutal oppression, all for the dream of an independent Pakistan.

The Creation of Pakistan: A Dream Realized

The struggle for independence culminated in the emergence of Pakistan on August 14, 1947. The dream envisioned in the Lahore Resolution turned into a reality, marking the beginning of a new era for the Muslims of the subcontinent. The creation of Pakistan was not just the establishment of a new country; it was the fulfillment of a long-cherished aspiration for freedom, identity, and sovereignty.

Pakistan Day: A Tribute to the Nation’s Heroes

March 23rd is celebrated with great enthusiasm across Pakistan. The day begins with special prayers for the prosperity and security of the country, followed by military parades, flag-hoisting ceremonies, and cultural events. The highlight of the day is the grand parade in Islamabad, where the armed forces display their prowess, and national leaders pay tribute to the sacrifices of the past.

Pakistan Day serves as a moment of reflection and gratitude. It reminds the nation of the core principles that led to the creation of Pakistan—unity, faith, and discipline. It is also a call to action for the younger generation to uphold the values of hard work, patriotism, and national integrity to ensure a prosperous future for the country.

Pakistan Day is more than just a historical milestone; it is a testament to the resilience and determination of the Muslims of the subcontinent. It is a day to honor the sacrifices of the past and reaffirm the commitment to building a strong and progressive Pakistan. As the nation moves forward, it must continue to uphold the principles of justice, equality, and unity that were at the heart of the Pakistan Movement.

May Pakistan continue to shine as a beacon of hope, strength, and prosperity for generations to come. Pakistan Zindabad!
