Peace is in Unity, for Afghans.

Published

The soothing word “peace” would be empty without the bonding magic of “unity”. One can never sustain peace without unity. Peace and unity come together when there is respect for differences and ideology for similarities and it is only possible when there is unity. Nowadays, peace word is in trending with regard to Afghanistan, and everybody seems to be the ambassador of peace except the Taliban. They have been portrayed in horrifying gestures and one is confused to have a look over them. As they have taken over Kabul on the 15th of August 2021. This time the Taliban have taken over without a single firing or some other kind of explosion. But the fear is being shown as overwhelming in the country. Though there is no threat from the Taliban.

The Taliban have already shared their new agendas that they would not harm anybody and would ensure security for all the citizens without any bias. So far, they are standing by their words and not violating any human rights. Rather they are facilitating the people. They would intake women on board in settling government and women would be free to get an education and to work. Further, the Taliban are ready to corporate with other countries as well. As they have asked China to functionalize its embassy in Afghanistan and look towards it for future progress. They are also in contact with Russia, Iran, and Pakistan.

The major thing is the unity between Afghans and the Taliban. And the threat to their unity is the outer world which is interrupting them again and again. Pakistani ambassador Asad Majeed Khan shared his opinion that a negotiated, inclusive settlement between the Taliban and the other Afghan factions is the “only plausible pathway” to peace in Afghanistan, and Pakistan continues to support all efforts towards that end. He also remarked that: “While the war in Afghanistan may be over, the peace is yet to be won.” And for this peace to be won unity would be the backbone.

A bright glimpse of unity has been seen on Friday’s Twenty-20 cricket match played between two Afghan teams ‘Peace Defenders’ and ‘Peace Heroes’ at the Kabul International Cricket Stadium in Kabul. This was not just a cricket match but a symbol of unity in which the spectators were holding the Afghan flag and Taliban flag together. And the Taliban were in surveillance and ensuring security. This is the first sign of Afghan Taliban unity and a reason for their peace. And this unity can take Afghanistan in the flight of harmony and progress.

It is a request to the world to let the Afghans and Taliban settle their issues by themselves. Never indulge to create more hurdles for them. They deserve peace and for that they need unity.
