Meesha Shafi calls out Saba Qamar for validating harassers while asking others to call them out

Meesha Shafi is a Canadian model, actress and Singer. She made her film in supporting role in Mira Nair’s film “The Reluctant”. After Noor Mukaddam’s murder case, Saba Qamar came forward spoke up about breaking the bro code and calling out the predator behavior. In past one week, many cases of rape and murder surfaced, with many questioning the deafening cycle of the authorities on the matter. Many celebs condemned the cruel act. Saba Qamar like many other celebs also spoke up. The “Baaghi” star said on Instagram:

“Someone said today that all of us women are just one man away from being the next hashtag and it sent shivers down my spine,” “If you are a man and you’ve ever cared even once for any woman in your life, please call out men in your circles with predatory behavior. Please break your bro codes. If you can’t do that then stop pretending to be an ally because you’re the only enabler then,”

Singer Meesha Shafi calls out Saba Qamar for “supporting and giving space” to known sexual harassers after Saba Qamar posted a message. Meesha Shafi said:

“This is what epic hypocrisy looks like, ladies and gentlemen,” “A lot of you are asking for context out of genuine curiosity and need to understand. Partying with, supporting, giving/sharing space, validating, endorsing and doing frivolous Instagram lives with known sexual harassers and then putting out holier than thou statement about calling out predators is literal hypocrisy.”

The victims and their trauma can’t miss it or forget even if they want to,” “They can’t miss it because they feel it in their hearts. In their gut. In their mental health. In their nausea. In their daily lives.”

“You don’t get to say this [call out sexual predators] without first holding yourself accountable for your own enabling actions and words defending and supporting predators after survivors have shared their experiences against all odds.”

Just to remind you, actress Meesha Shafi accused singer actor Ali Zafar of sexual harassment in 2018 and started the wave of #MeToo movement in Pakistan

Death anniversary of singer Masood Rana observed

The 29th death anniversary of famous playback singer Masood Rana was observed on Friday.

He was born in Mirpur Khas, Sindh.

Masood Rana started his singing career from Radio Pakistan Hyderabad in 1955.

He began singing for films in 1962.

Masood Rana remained one of the top male singers in Urdu and Punjabi films for more than three decades.

He died in Lahore on this day in 1995.

Death anniversary of Naseem Begum being observed today

The 53rd death anniversary of renowned Pakistani singer Naseem Begum is being observed today.

Born in 1936 in Amritsar, Naseem Begum sang hundreds of Punjabi and Urdu songs for films. Her melodious voice won her a huge fan following in the country.

During the 1965 war against India, Naseem Begum, was one of those singers who lent their voices to patriotic songs. her song ”Aye Raah-e-Haq k shaheedo” boosted the morale of the armed forces and the nation.

She passed away on this date in 1971.

Death anniversary of Ashfaq Ahmad being observed today

Twentieth death anniversary of eminent writer, playwright and broadcaster Ashfaq Ahmad is being observed today.

Ashfaq Ahmad wrote dozens of TV dramas and hosted famous programmes of Radio Pakistan “Talqeen Shah” which was broadcast by Radio Pakistan for about 35 years.

His famous PTV plays were “Munchaley ka Soda” “Aik Muhobaat Sao Afsaney” “Tota Kahani” “Hairat Kada” and “Afsaney”.

On television, Ahmad penned the script of several plays that went on to become popular with audiences including, Uchhay Burj Lahore De, Tali Thallay, and Tota Kahani. He also made a feature film called Dhop aur Saya in the 60’s.

Ahmed married Banu Qudsia, who was also a well-known author and literary personality.

He received both the Presidential Pride of Performance award and Sitar-e-Imtiaz.

Ashfaq Ahmad died on this day in 2004 in Lahore.
