300 MW power project to create over 1000+ jobs for people of Gwadar.

The well-known game-changer CPEC is about to launch another important project of the coal-fired power project to produce 300MW in the budget of $542.32 million in Gwadar. This project would not only overcome power deficiency but also create thousands of jobs for the local and non-local people. The Gwadar Development Authority will be monitoring the project as the site has been acquired for the project.

Basically, Gwadar does not have access to the national grid and it relies on Iran. And now due to the power shortages in Iran have resulted in load shedding in the Gwadar, Turbat, and Makran. Besides this, the government is taking steps to connect these communities to the national grid, ensuring a steady supply of electricity to household consumers and providing assistance during the winter months. The government has established a goal to increase coal output to satisfy national energy needs, and it is taking a number of steps to ensure that customers have access to affordable electricity.

The news of this project was announced through a tweet by CPEC Monitor Handle who shared that the 300MW coal-fired Gwadar Power Plant will become operational in October 2023. Moreover, he also mentioned the Suki Kinari Hydropower Project which would have the capacity of 884 MW and would be operational by 2022.
