Gilgit Baltistan Celebrated its 74th year of Independence

Gilgit Baltistan is the landmark of natural resources, cultural richness, and social strengthening. It is well known to be the northern area of Pakistan. The people of GB have liberated themselves from the Dogra Raj on the 1st of November 1947. And every year they celebrated it with zeal and fervor.

This year the independence is celebrated in all the 10 districts of the region. Whereas the main function took place at the Chinar Bagh in Gilgit. The event was attended by Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid as a chief guest. On this occasion, Mr. Khurshid paid tribute to the martyrs and conquerors.

He added that: “On this special day our heroes liberated this part of the land from the Dogra rule without any outside help. Today we must pledge to remember the sacrifices of our forefathers.” The governor of GB Raja Jalal Hussian Maqpoon, force commander, chief secretary, civil and military officers, and relatives of martyrs and Ghazis also attend the ceremony. All of them collectively offered prayers for the departed souls at the Yadgar-i-Shuhada.

And today we believe “Gilgit Say Gwadar Karachi Say Peshawar” Aik Qaum (one Nation).

Nation observes 10th Anniversary of APS Peshawar tragedy

The 10th anniversary of the tragic terror incident at Army Public School Peshawar is being observed today to pay tribute to the martyrs.

Special prayers and Quran Khwani are being held for the martyred students and teachers of Army Public School.

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa education department has arranged special functions to commemorate the APS incident and martyred students.

On 16th of December 2014, six terrorists stormed the Army Public School Peshawar and martyred one hundred and forty-seven innocent students and teachers of the school.

Chomos festival continues in Kalash Valley

The historic fifteen-day Chomos festival continues in Kalash Valley, including Chitral district, on seventh consecutive day, today.

Under the guidance of Tashfeen Haider, Director General of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, tourist information centers in Chitral City and Upper Dir have been activated to assist both foreign and local visitors.

The Kalash people are observing various rituals during the Chomos festival as part of their New Year celebrations.

Traditional songs, dances, and rituals are key features of the festival, which is set to culminate on the 22nd of this month.
