Drama serial Khaani’s writer Asma Nabeel dies of cancer

Khaani drama which was loved by many and still is the heartbeat of many was written by Asma nabeel. Asma nabeel has been battling with cancer for a long time now. She died in Karachi. It is often said that cancer is only going to be a chapter in your life, not the whole story, said by Joe Wasser, but I believe sometimes it becomes your whole story. The impact of her drama seriel wasn’t over yet. The dramas she wrote includes Khaani, Khuda mera bhi hai, Surkh Chaandni. She loved writing about social issues people faces in everyday lives.

Her drama Khaani made an amazing name where there was a girl named Khaani which was played by Sana Javed and Mir haadi which was played by Feroze Khan. After the drama went on Air it took an amazing turn when Khaani’s brother died and Mir Haadi fell in love with her. Such a strong story could only be written by our famous script writer Mam Asma Nabeel.

She was also known for her activist’s work for breast cancer awareness where she said to the people who were battling to the disease that “Keep strong faith and fight it out; that is a key to success and survival”

Her funeral took place at Jamia Islamia in Clifton today, Friday at 2 pm. Asma also called herself a warrior once while dealing with the disease.

After her death many showbiz celebrities and people came forward with condolences. Feroze khan said:

Asma Nabeel loses her battle against cancer but certainly won a better place up there. May her soul rest in peace. Inna lillahe wa inna Ilayhe rajeoun.”

Adnan Siddiqui said: “Asma Nabeel, you warrior! Gone too soon… we were to witness your exceptionally written dramas many times over. May Allah grant you Jannah ul Firdous. Ameen.”

Many more celebrities came forward with their condolences. Samina Peerzada said: “Asma Nabeel a cancer warrior a brave heart and a kind soul will be missed for her work that she yet to create. She wrote Khaani and many more. RIP dear soul.”

Also Vasay Chaudhry said:

“RIP Asma, the way you reached out to various screen writers of Pakistan (including me) to form an association and got us together on one platform, we will always be indebted to you. May Allah bless your soul and give you the highest rank in janat.

Many people die daily but some people stay with us forever. Asma Nabeel is one of those people who don’t ever leave our hearts. They may leave us physically but in a very spiritual way their spirit stays with us. Asma’s hard work and work of class stay with the audience that used to watch and love her dramas.

Death anniversary of singer Masood Rana observed

The 29th death anniversary of famous playback singer Masood Rana was observed on Friday.

He was born in Mirpur Khas, Sindh.

Masood Rana started his singing career from Radio Pakistan Hyderabad in 1955.

He began singing for films in 1962.

Masood Rana remained one of the top male singers in Urdu and Punjabi films for more than three decades.

He died in Lahore on this day in 1995.

Death anniversary of Naseem Begum being observed today

The 53rd death anniversary of renowned Pakistani singer Naseem Begum is being observed today.

Born in 1936 in Amritsar, Naseem Begum sang hundreds of Punjabi and Urdu songs for films. Her melodious voice won her a huge fan following in the country.

During the 1965 war against India, Naseem Begum, was one of those singers who lent their voices to patriotic songs. her song ”Aye Raah-e-Haq k shaheedo” boosted the morale of the armed forces and the nation.

She passed away on this date in 1971.

Death anniversary of Ashfaq Ahmad being observed today

Twentieth death anniversary of eminent writer, playwright and broadcaster Ashfaq Ahmad is being observed today.

Ashfaq Ahmad wrote dozens of TV dramas and hosted famous programmes of Radio Pakistan “Talqeen Shah” which was broadcast by Radio Pakistan for about 35 years.

His famous PTV plays were “Munchaley ka Soda” “Aik Muhobaat Sao Afsaney” “Tota Kahani” “Hairat Kada” and “Afsaney”.

On television, Ahmad penned the script of several plays that went on to become popular with audiences including, Uchhay Burj Lahore De, Tali Thallay, and Tota Kahani. He also made a feature film called Dhop aur Saya in the 60’s.

Ahmed married Banu Qudsia, who was also a well-known author and literary personality.

He received both the Presidential Pride of Performance award and Sitar-e-Imtiaz.

Ashfaq Ahmad died on this day in 2004 in Lahore.
