Corps Commanders Conference takes serious note of Indian Military’ malicious propaganda

RAWALPINDI, (APP): The 244th Corps Commanders Conference on Tuesday taking serious note of the malicious propaganda by Indian Military, expressed resolve to take all necessary measures to safeguard Pakistan’s territorial integrity.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa presided over the conference held here at General Headquarters (GHQ) said Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar in a media release.

Speaking on the occasion, the Army Chief said the baseless propaganda only reflected their (Indian Military) frustration and an attempt to divert attention from their internal contradictions especially gross Human Rights Violations, being committed in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The Forum took a comprehensive review of evolving security situation in the region with a particular focus on Border Management and Internal Security.

The Forum was apprised of measures being taken to thwart nefarious designs of inimical forces to destabilize Pakistan and spoil the hard-earned peace and stability.

The Forum expressed concern over the brewing humanitarian cum security situation in Afghanistan concluding that meaningful engagement and sustained support by the international community was imperative for paving way for peace and stability in Afghanistan and the larger region.

The COAS appreciated operational preparedness of formations and focus on training including enhanced collaboration with foreign militaries and conduct of joint exercises in the Operational and Counter-Terrorism domain.

Nation observes 10th Anniversary of APS Peshawar tragedy

The 10th anniversary of the tragic terror incident at Army Public School Peshawar is being observed today to pay tribute to the martyrs.

Special prayers and Quran Khwani are being held for the martyred students and teachers of Army Public School.

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa education department has arranged special functions to commemorate the APS incident and martyred students.

On 16th of December 2014, six terrorists stormed the Army Public School Peshawar and martyred one hundred and forty-seven innocent students and teachers of the school.

Chomos festival continues in Kalash Valley

The historic fifteen-day Chomos festival continues in Kalash Valley, including Chitral district, on seventh consecutive day, today.

Under the guidance of Tashfeen Haider, Director General of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, tourist information centers in Chitral City and Upper Dir have been activated to assist both foreign and local visitors.

The Kalash people are observing various rituals during the Chomos festival as part of their New Year celebrations.

Traditional songs, dances, and rituals are key features of the festival, which is set to culminate on the 22nd of this month.
