The melodious singer of the song “Sona Na Chandi Na Koi Mahal” was born in 1946 in Delhi. He started his career as a stage singer in the 1960s in Karachi. He joined a singer group with the two great names Masood Rana and Nadeem. He has been recognized as the third generation of male playback singers in the Pakistani film industry.

He struggled hard to make his career and became famous for his two songs for the films. One is “Sona Na Chandi Na Koi Mahal” in the film Bandish and second is “Sawan Aye Sawan Jaye” in the film Chahat. He received Nigar Award for the Best Male Playback Singer.

Akhlaq Ahmed passed away in London after 14 years of fight with blood cancer on the 4th of August 1999. We pay tribute to him on his death anniversary.

Birth anniversary of Dildar Pervaiz Bhatti observed

Renowned TV and radio compere, columnist, author, and actor Dildar Pervaiz Bhatti was remembered on the occasion of his birth anniversary on Thursday.

Born in Gujranwala on November 30, 1948, Dildar Parvaiz Bhatti, got his early education in Gujranwala. After completing Master’s in English Literature, Bhatti started his career as English lecturer at Government College Sahiwal.

He step-in in his entertainment career from Radio Pakistan in early 70s, where he hosted a program called Sohni Dharti.

His known for his university challenge style TV show ‘Takra’, which made him a household name.

He also wrote daily columns and worked with different newspapers. He also authored books, including Amna Samna, Dildarian and Dilbar Dildar. Dildar Pervaiz compared many live entertainment shows presenting various talented artists of Pakistan.

In 1994, Dildar Pervaiz Bhatti died due to brain haemorrhage in New York City.
