The melodious singer of the song “Sona Na Chandi Na Koi Mahal” was born in 1946 in Delhi. He started his career as a stage singer in the 1960s in Karachi. He joined a singer group with the two great names Masood Rana and Nadeem. He has been recognized as the third generation of male playback singers in the Pakistani film industry.

He struggled hard to make his career and became famous for his two songs for the films. One is “Sona Na Chandi Na Koi Mahal” in the film Bandish and second is “Sawan Aye Sawan Jaye” in the film Chahat. He received Nigar Award for the Best Male Playback Singer.

Akhlaq Ahmed passed away in London after 14 years of fight with blood cancer on the 4th of August 1999. We pay tribute to him on his death anniversary.

The twentieth death anniversary of musician Master Nazir Ali was observed today.

Nazir Ali received his music education from Ustad Akhtar Hussain and acquired expertise in composing film music from an early age.

He is considered as the King of Dhamaal. Lal Meri Pat Rakhiyo Bila Jhole Lalan brought Nazir Ali to the ranks of the great musicians of the film industry.

His other Dhamaals which received public acclaim include ‘Hussaini Lal Qalandar, Mere Gham Tal Qalandar’   ‘Shahbaz Kare Parwaaz’, ‘Bari Bari Imam Bari’, Sajnoon Iha Nagri Data Di’.

Death anniversary of singer Masood Rana observed

The 29th death anniversary of famous playback singer Masood Rana was observed on Friday.

He was born in Mirpur Khas, Sindh.

Masood Rana started his singing career from Radio Pakistan Hyderabad in 1955.

He began singing for films in 1962.

Masood Rana remained one of the top male singers in Urdu and Punjabi films for more than three decades.

He died in Lahore on this day in 1995.

Death anniversary of Naseem Begum being observed today

The 53rd death anniversary of renowned Pakistani singer Naseem Begum is being observed today.

Born in 1936 in Amritsar, Naseem Begum sang hundreds of Punjabi and Urdu songs for films. Her melodious voice won her a huge fan following in the country.

During the 1965 war against India, Naseem Begum, was one of those singers who lent their voices to patriotic songs. her song ”Aye Raah-e-Haq k shaheedo” boosted the morale of the armed forces and the nation.

She passed away on this date in 1971.
