All arrangements finalized for SCO meeting in Islamabad

Pakistan will be hosting the twenty-third meeting of the Council of the Heads of Government of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on 15th and 16th of this month in Islamabad.

According to Foreign Office Spokesperson, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will preside over the SCO Council of the Heads of Government meeting in his capacity as the current Chair.

The SCO member states will be represented by the prime ministers of China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan as well as the First Vice President of Iran and External Affairs Minister of India.

The Prime Minister of Mongolia, Observer State, and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, Special Guest, will also participate in the meeting.

The Prime Minister will also hold important bilateral meetings with visiting heads of delegations on the sidelines of the meeting.

The SCO Council of the Heads of Government meeting will discuss ongoing cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, environment, socio-cultural linkages and review the performance of the Organization.

The leaders will adopt important organizational decisions to further enhance cooperation among SCO member States and approve the budget of the Organization.

Meanwhile, all arrangements have been finalized to host the meeting in dignified manner.

Welcome ceremony in honour of Chinese Premier held at PM House, Islamabad

A formal welcome ceremony in honour of Chinese Premier Li Qiang was held at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad today.

On the occasion, anthems of both the countries were played.

A smartly turned out continent of armed forces presented guard of honour to the visiting dignitary.

‘Pakistan-Malaysia engagements to yield positive results’

Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim says the engagements with his counterpart Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari, alongside discussions with industry representatives, resulted in productive outcomes encompassing a wide array of mutual interests.

In a post on X, he said these interactions underscored the commitment of the highest leadership to enhance relations.

Anwar Ibrahim said there will be increased cooperation in all areas including trade and agricultural technology following his visit.

He said the two countries will also expand cooperation in the skilled worker sector of artificial intelligence and semiconductors.

Pakistan slams Israel’s  growing adventurism in Middle East

ISLAMABAD, Sep 29 (APP): Pakistan on Sunday strongly condemned the growing Israeli adventurism in the Middle East and said that its unbridled attacks on civilian populations and disregard of international law have reached alarming levels.

“For the last several days, Israeli forces have engaged in unacceptable violation of the sovereignty of Lebanon, relentlessly targeting civilian population centers, and undermining its stability and security. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims of Israeli aggression and the people of Lebanon,” Foreign Office Spokesperson said in a press statement.

Yesterday’s reckless act of killing the Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon constitutes a major escalation in an already volatile region.

“Pakistan continues to stand in solidarity with the people of Lebanon. We urge the United Nations Security Council to restrain Israel from its adventurism in the region and violations of international law; and restore peace in the Middle East,” it was further added.
