Fresh Water is the Basic for Healthy Survival

 (APP): Balochistan government has decided to initiate multiple projects of fresh water treatment, water supply, and distribution in the coastal town of Gwadar under the project of CPEC.

According to an official source, the project worth Rs 130 million, would also cater to future water demand and sewage disposal systems in Gwadar required for Deep Sea Port, its associated industry, and the city itself. Moreover, multiple projects including, the implementing water supply, distribution system, desalination plant, and sewage collection system and treatment plant have also been planned in the Master Plan of Gwadar as a mega port city.

The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has approved PC-I for the establishment of 5 MGD RO plants for Gwadar to purify or desalinate contaminated water of the deep sea. The laying of pipelines from Swad Dam to Gwadar is near completion. The Gwadar, Pasni, and surrounding areas would also supply the clean drinking water through Shadi Kor, Akra Kor dams through pipelines. The government would install a network of water pipelines from Akara Dam to Jiwani to ensure an uninterrupted supply of water to the residents of the area.

Indeed it is a good initiative taken by the government to facilitate the people of Gwadar with the basic need. And every area needs this facility at the earliest.

Nation observes 10th Anniversary of APS Peshawar tragedy

The 10th anniversary of the tragic terror incident at Army Public School Peshawar is being observed today to pay tribute to the martyrs.

Special prayers and Quran Khwani are being held for the martyred students and teachers of Army Public School.

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa education department has arranged special functions to commemorate the APS incident and martyred students.

On 16th of December 2014, six terrorists stormed the Army Public School Peshawar and martyred one hundred and forty-seven innocent students and teachers of the school.

Chomos festival continues in Kalash Valley

The historic fifteen-day Chomos festival continues in Kalash Valley, including Chitral district, on seventh consecutive day, today.

Under the guidance of Tashfeen Haider, Director General of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, tourist information centers in Chitral City and Upper Dir have been activated to assist both foreign and local visitors.

The Kalash people are observing various rituals during the Chomos festival as part of their New Year celebrations.

Traditional songs, dances, and rituals are key features of the festival, which is set to culminate on the 22nd of this month.
