The beautiful landscape of nature is vulnerable to a natural disaster like flooding. Hindu Kush-Karakoram-Himalayan (HKH) Mountains is home to more than 7200 glaciers. All these glaciers feed the rivers up to 75% and that is supplied to 220 million people.

Where Global warming has affected the melting process of the glaciers. They are going to be a sign of danger rather than be a supplier. Every year it affects hundreds of people. Many people of GB have lost their houses due to the worst flooding. And it has also influenced the mental health of the people. GB is not just vulnerable in summers but also in winters due to the heavy snowfall and avalanches.

Finally, the government of GB has taken a good step to have a check and balance of the weather condition so that the people might not suffer. The government has installed about fifty automated weather stations at various spots. This installment can help in regular monitoring of weather conditions. However, this initiative cost about $37 million to identify and manage hazards related to Outburst Floods.

Though these automated weather stations have precise forecasting possibilities while providing data in real-time. Whereas the good thing is that they run in low power like can work just with a single solar panel. And they are also perfect to be installed in GLOF prone locations.

Moreover, the measurement of all these data would be in the hand of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

Sugesstions

Indeed it is a very good initiative to lessen the sufferings of the local people of GB. And there must be some more initiatives to control Global warming. Because it is not just a threat to GB but the country rather to the world. We need to care about our mother nature otherwise it would charge us back.
