The powerful five letters combine and ask all other entities to get together. It means to hold everybody as one. Unity is the core principle of living with each other. It is magic for peace, a tool for prosperity, and law for discipline. The principle of unity can strengthen a family, build a society, and can transform into one nation (AikQaum). This word has a full-fledged history in the creation of this land in Pakistan. The father of the nation Jinnah used this word magically and united the Muslims of the Sub-continent. And he considered this word along with the two Faith and Discipline as the living principles. But today we are following them or not is another topic of discussion.
I hope you might have read/heard the story of an old man and his sons. If not then let me narrate here. There was an old man who was having six sons. Those six brothers used to quarrel with one another and their fragile poor father was fed up with them. He used to assemble them but they never heard of him. One day the old man was ill and on bad and asked his sons to go and bring sticks. The boys went and brought a number of sticks. Then the father asked the eldest one to break one of the sticks so he did it then he asked the second one he also broke and then the third and all of them broke the single sticks. They became angry about what their father asked them to do. Then the old man asked all of them to combine the sticks in a bundle form so they did it and he asked them to break the bundles. And none of them were able to do it. So the father advised them that if you people would stay together then nobody would be able to break you but if you disperse from one another then everybody is ready to piece you. This is what the perfect story of unity.
Now the question is how to be united and it is the valid one. For me, unity is the daughter of acceptance and respect. There is indeed nothing like one nor is everything the same. And the word unity means to join or combine together so the thing how to join or combine. It is only possible when there is acceptance of differences and respect for them. I and you know that we are different from one another in terms of our color, race, culture, region, and many times gender as well. Simultaneously, we do have similarities as well like we all are human beings, most of us are Muslims and belong to the same land. So, the actual thing is the acceptance of all the differences and to respect them, and embracing the similarities. This is how unity can have its physical appearance and can join us together to become the nation of Jinnah.
