Pakistan is the name of a beautiful country that is full of greenery and natural spots. Every city, town, the village of this country has its mesmerizing look. The mountain ranges surround it in their fullness and vast lands widen the spectrum of eyes. The flowing waters produce music in harmony with the chirping birds. Deserts and valleys seem to be in competition with one another in terms of beauty. Stones gaze like monuments. Pakistan is just the bouquet of natural beauty. There can be a country like Pakistan.
It is home to every citizen who lives in it and it is a mother to every child who is born in it. The creator has fulfilled it with everything and now it is in part of us to care for it, protect it, love it and develop it. No doubt the word ‘Pakistan’ is abstract and nonliving but the people inside it need to be lively. To be lively never means to eat, move, talk and wear nor does it just mean to study and hold a position. But what it means is to be sensible and devoted. What did we use to do? Have you ever noticed our actions? Have we ever thought about our role in making the country? Have we ever thought about how we are throwing our waste without any second thought? Have you ever thought the plastic you are throwing is of 1000 years?
The answer to all these questions is no by the majority of us. But we love the slogans like ‘Clean and Green Pakistan.’ We like to drive on clean roads but we dispose of our waste from our car windows and expect the government to clean it for us. We comment on the maintenance of open areas which we visit and left out our garbage there. We are very keen to judge the cleanliness of institutions yet we never bother to clean our tables. We keep our houses tidy but not the street near us. We never educate our children about the concept of dustbin outside the home. We buy things for the kids but never tell them where to dispose of the raw. If some fool intellect tries to stop us from throwing out waste then we will answer with confidence that “Ek meray na phenknay sa kya Hoga.” And every waste disposer thinks this that “Ek meray sa kya Hoga.” I am confused about this attitude and I am not getting that who is the one whom we all are targeting?, who is the one who has to put the things in order?
And unfortunately, this is mostly the act of the so-called educated people of the country. We proudly hire the poor to clean our dirt. And they are the people who clean the roads for us but we never acknowledged them. We never imagine thanking them. Simply, we are ignorant.
The religion Islam is very clear about cleanliness and says that “Cleanliness is half of Faith” but we never consider it when it comes to country level. Cleanliness is the simplest act and is the responsibility of every individual. The only thing we have to do is to take our responsibility and we need to change our mindset that “Ek meray na phenknay sa kya Hoga.” I grantee you that “Ek ap say boht Kuch Hoga” because “Ek ap hi hay” who can bring change not in others but yourself. Wherever you are you need to remember the beauty of Pakistan. If you are disposing of your leftovers anywhere then you are subtracting the beauty of the country. When groups of individuals combine they form a nation so the one you are the nation builder. Think once while building this nation.
