Skardu is in the closet of mountains where the lake is in the center and the greenery is all around with the roof of blue sky. This place seems to be a part of some ideal world however, Allah has blessed us with this beauty in the distant end of Baltistan. This place has remained the hub of tourists from national and international points. And this place is not just beautiful in terms of view yet it has much more inside it in form of its people, their culture and their foods. These people are really rich in terms of their traditional foods. Some of the traditional foods are mentioned below;

This dish is a mixture of homemade boiled noodles with the powder form of almond. And then they are covered with the paste of walnut and apricot oil. Mostly the local ingredients are used.
- Gyal (Buckwheat cakes)
Buckwheat is used as a major ingredient in this dish. It is cooked on a think plate and it smelled somehow smoky which makes it more tasty and appetizing. It is served with apricot oil.
- Boiled Goat
The people of Skardu used to keep goat at their homes for milk and then at a certain time they cut them and they boiled them without any spices and eat that with rice. That is the most delicious dish of Baltistan.
