PM Imran Khan summons important meeting of the National Security Committee in Islamabad

The meeting is being chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan. Pakistan’s top civil and military leadership is meeting in Islamabad for the second time in a week to discuss the prevailing situation in occupied Kashmir.

The NSC is expected to take important decisions in today’s meeting.

The decision to review diplomatic relations with India is on the cards, while the committee is also expected to take the decision of closing Wagah Border.

Amid increasing tensions with India, the decision to increase deployment of the Pakistan Army personnel along the Line of Control (LoC) is also expected to be taken.

Prime Minister Imran Khan’s contacts with the world leaders would also be discussed in the meeting, said the sources.

Earlier on August 4, a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC), chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, had decided to give a befitting response to any Indian aggression across the line of control.

According to a declaration issued by the PM House, the NSC meeting had condemned the India aggression and use of cluster bomb on civilian population along the line of control (LoC),

On the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that Pakistan would always stand with Kashmiris and will not be deterred from its just stance based on United Nations Security Council’s resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people.

Nation observes 10th Anniversary of APS Peshawar tragedy

The 10th anniversary of the tragic terror incident at Army Public School Peshawar is being observed today to pay tribute to the martyrs.

Special prayers and Quran Khwani are being held for the martyred students and teachers of Army Public School.

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa education department has arranged special functions to commemorate the APS incident and martyred students.

On 16th of December 2014, six terrorists stormed the Army Public School Peshawar and martyred one hundred and forty-seven innocent students and teachers of the school.

Chomos festival continues in Kalash Valley

The historic fifteen-day Chomos festival continues in Kalash Valley, including Chitral district, on seventh consecutive day, today.

Under the guidance of Tashfeen Haider, Director General of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, tourist information centers in Chitral City and Upper Dir have been activated to assist both foreign and local visitors.

The Kalash people are observing various rituals during the Chomos festival as part of their New Year celebrations.

Traditional songs, dances, and rituals are key features of the festival, which is set to culminate on the 22nd of this month.
