Gilgit-Shandur Expressway Project to be Complete by 2024

Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar said in a press conference that the Rs50 bn Gilgit-Shandur Expressway Project is going to be complete soon.

He further added that the PTI Govt has allocated Rs 40.5 billion for project development in Gilgit Baltistan. He promised to boost the federal allotment for the GB development package up to Rs50 billion in the fiscal year 2022-24. the current government has been working towards the development of Gilgit-Baltistan on a top priority basis.

The minister stated that the Gilgit-Shandor Expressway will be completed for Rs 50 billion and they would incorporate this project into the CPEC(China Pakistan Economic Corridor).

19 large-scale projects had been included within the Federal PSDP in the integrated development plan for Gilgit-Baltistan, Asad Umar said.

He also speaks about the vaccination drive in GB during the press conference, the state minister said that the government has set up six vaccination centers throughout Gilgit Baltistan. Prime Minister Imran Khan declared a five-year Rs370 billion boost package for the picturesque region of Gilgit Baltistan last month. The PM announced that they would spend the resources to the tune of Rs370 billion in the region over the next five years, with the promise to expand all the possible help for the area’s well-being.

Nation observes 10th Anniversary of APS Peshawar tragedy

The 10th anniversary of the tragic terror incident at Army Public School Peshawar is being observed today to pay tribute to the martyrs.

Special prayers and Quran Khwani are being held for the martyred students and teachers of Army Public School.

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa education department has arranged special functions to commemorate the APS incident and martyred students.

On 16th of December 2014, six terrorists stormed the Army Public School Peshawar and martyred one hundred and forty-seven innocent students and teachers of the school.

Chomos festival continues in Kalash Valley

The historic fifteen-day Chomos festival continues in Kalash Valley, including Chitral district, on seventh consecutive day, today.

Under the guidance of Tashfeen Haider, Director General of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, tourist information centers in Chitral City and Upper Dir have been activated to assist both foreign and local visitors.

The Kalash people are observing various rituals during the Chomos festival as part of their New Year celebrations.

Traditional songs, dances, and rituals are key features of the festival, which is set to culminate on the 22nd of this month.
