Gwadar The Most Desired Place

Gwadar has remained the most wanted place in history. Many have conquered and ruled over it for longer periods of time. It had the touch of the Bronze Age and ancient tribes with their unique culture. This place had attracted great explorers like Vasco de Gama and Alexander the great who had ruled over it through their governors. It had called Muslim emperor as well like Akbar the great who conquered it by the end of the 16th century and ruled till the beginning of the 18th century. It was taken over by Khan of Kalat in 1783 and remained under the reign of the Oman emperor. Omani rulers build the Gwadar fort which is still a living asset. Then late in the 20th century, it became part of Pakistan.

It is located in the southwestern part of the Baluchistan province of Pakistan but was rule by the Oman sultan till 1958. Chabahar is known to be the sister port of Gwadar which is situated in the Sistan and Baluchistan province of Iran. And Gwadar was the overseas part of it. The area of this port city is about 120 km. The strategic location and importance of Gwadar were reported after a survey conducted by United States Geological Survey in 1954. And it was confirmed that it can be the best port city.  Then it was sanctioned as a part of Pakistan in 1958 by negotiation with the sultan of Oman. It was made possible by the prime minister of Pakistan Feroz Khan Noon and his wife Viqar-un-Nisa Noon. It was agreed for the handsome amount of 5.5 Billion which was mostly paid by the Excellency Aga Khan IV.

Though this place became part of Pakistan back in 1958 yet it was not considered for development till 2001. In the first phase of its development, $248 Million were expended in 2007. Then diplomatic China emerges to grasp the opportunity and initiated the project of CPEC in 2015 in collaboration with Pakistan. China invested $46 Billion in the beginning and then it extended the chain of projects that have to brighten the importance of Gwadar to the world.

Yet it has the least literary rate and it hampers its progress. Because it lacks train people who can work for the development of their city. However, now CPEC has brought a full package of development plans for Gwadar city like standard education, health care facility, power generation, and many other. The naturally beautiful Gwadar is going to reach the verge of technological beauty. Here to visualize some pictures of Gwadar city.

The beautiful clicks are captured by Saim Taimur the young traveler and explorer. Thank you Saim Taimur for the clicks.
