A Step towards Digital World Govt Approves Pakistan’s First-Ever Digital Advertisement Policy

A good step was taken by the government to approve Pakistan’s First-Ever Advertisement Policy under which advertisements will be made digitally without any compromise on transparency. This policy aims to provide a border spectrum for Government advertisement and communication to inform aware the masses on different issues. A cabinet meeting was held on Tuesday in which Prime Minister Imran was briefed by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Shibli Faraz, Focal Person to PM on Digital Media, Dr. Arslan Khalid, and GM Digital Media Wing, Imran Ghazali on this policy. After the cabinet meeting, Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry announced this news to the public which is indeed good news for many. He said that firstly they will shift the Press Information Department to a digital format and the advertisement will be made digital.

 He added, “I had written a letter to the Finance Ministry in 2018, informing them that Rs. 3-4 billion was being spent on digital ads at the time, which has now increased to Rs.25 billion. The Federal Board of Revenue has not yet framed its policy on it, but the government has taken advertisement in advanced mood. First, the government has introduced transparency and adjustment has been made in rates of advertisement and payments were scheduled. The digital advertisement would bring a new revolution for digital media.”

Further, the Prime Minister was briefed about the internet users in Pakistan which are around 93 million, and 45 million of them are on social media as well.

The future belongs to the digital world and Pakistan’s digital media is also growing at a good pace. And this policy will provide a good opportunity to the new digital media and content creators and it can enhance Pakistan’s economy as well. This will encourage the corporate sector to use digital as an advertising medium.

Nation observes 10th Anniversary of APS Peshawar tragedy

The 10th anniversary of the tragic terror incident at Army Public School Peshawar is being observed today to pay tribute to the martyrs.

Special prayers and Quran Khwani are being held for the martyred students and teachers of Army Public School.

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa education department has arranged special functions to commemorate the APS incident and martyred students.

On 16th of December 2014, six terrorists stormed the Army Public School Peshawar and martyred one hundred and forty-seven innocent students and teachers of the school.

Chomos festival continues in Kalash Valley

The historic fifteen-day Chomos festival continues in Kalash Valley, including Chitral district, on seventh consecutive day, today.

Under the guidance of Tashfeen Haider, Director General of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, tourist information centers in Chitral City and Upper Dir have been activated to assist both foreign and local visitors.

The Kalash people are observing various rituals during the Chomos festival as part of their New Year celebrations.

Traditional songs, dances, and rituals are key features of the festival, which is set to culminate on the 22nd of this month.
