Technology has made our lives so easy and allows us to take advantage of it as much as we want. It has introduced us to a fair world than ours. But the use of technology depends upon the human being who can create and the one who is using it. The introduction of electronic voting or E-Voting has solved the major problem of election fairness. It is a system of voting by electronic means both to caste and to count the casting. E-voting has a proper electronic machine which is easy to use. There are two types of systems one is connected through the internet and the voter can vote from anywhere while the other one demands the voter to submit his/her vote to the authorities at specified polling stations.

It has many benefits like it can save the time of the voters and can reduce their hurdles to reach out to some specific polling station and that an increase in the number of voters. It also lessens the cost of paying to the agents and presiding officers. Moreover, the number can be counted faster and the result can be generated at the spot. It provides the right for disabled persons.

Many of the developed countries are already using the E-Voting system. The government of Pakistan also aims to introduce the electronic voting machine for conducting the election and to assure transparency. They have installed one machine in the parliament as well and have asked the opposition leaders to test it. The information minister has confirmed that there would be two records of the voting one electronic and the second a ballot paper would be generated for manually counting so there would be no chance of manipulation. He also ensures that the system does not employ the internet to avoid the risk of hacking.

Further, the Information Minister said: “They’re 100 percent standalone machines and they’re also not connected to each other so chances of rigging are further decreased.” There would be two-part of voting first is to verify the voter through biometric and second to press the button in the machine for the favored one. Prime Minister Imran Khan wants to bring electoral reform in the election system as he said that: “Technology and the use of EVMs is the only answer to reclaim the credibility of elections. I invite the opposition to sit with us and select from EVM models we have available to restore the credibility of our elections.” It would be a great reform and can bring transparency and satisfaction as well. Because we are unable to trust each other whereas we can trust technology to some extent. So, promote the notion of E-Voting and stay calm for the results.
